Scones are as quintessentially British. Whether you slather yours in clotted cream, or dollop strawberry jam on first, this baked treat is divisive, delicious, and damn easy to make.

Ingredients
Directions
Preheat your oven to 200 C. Grease your baking trays
Mix the flour, baking powder and your Whitworths Caster Sugar into a bowl.
Then add the softened butter. Use your hands to combine until you get a crumbly mixture
Crack your eggs into a jug, add your milk so the mixture reaches 300 ml
Mix the egg and milk mixture into your flour batter
Move the mixture onto a lightly floured work surface, knead lightly and add the sultanas in
Then roll your dough into a rectangle shape about 2 cm thick
Cut into lots of rounds, as many as you can, roughly 5 cm
Place them onto your baking trays
Brush a bit of milk onto them so they are nice and golden
Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until golden
Split the scones and serve with cream and jam
